I lived in Abdera, the colony of Clazomenae in Thrace. My kin left the coast of Asia Minor and arrived here in ships, along with Temesius. Our settlement was hard. We had to confront the people who were here before us. We tried to resist the continuous attacks, we built walls around the town, but they didn’t do much.
The climate was very different to that of our motherland and the harsh weather conditions affected the population, causing the death of many people, even children. Nevertheless, we did not abandon Abdera.
