Mobility
The hunter-gatherer of Astypalea was not born on the island, but travelled there from some other place in the Aegean.
I belong to Astypalea’s early inhabitants. I know how to find my food on the land and in the sea. I used to travel in a boat across the Aegean Sea.
My story ended approximately 11,000 years ago. I was buried in the cave that is known today as the Negro’s Grotto, at the southern part of the island.
My burial was simple, bounded by food remains and traces of my comrades’ activity, but the memory of me remains with them.
